"Johnny Rotten Hawk Boy" Altar:
Exterior has been nicely grooved by wood-eating ants. I began working on this collage in a carpenter's workshop in a Puebla Perdita of Mexico City.
This is a physical entity that I created based on my treatment for a script about the vanishing of the black orchid that only blooms at night under a full moon. An essence of the flora and fauna indiginous to the island of Culebra.
While on location in Culebra, configurations of suspended realities revealed themselves to me: A Taino burial ground of infinite depth. I created this character who inhabits this sacred pithy bog. Johnny Rotten Hawk Boy is the leader of a band of rebels that save the island from destruction by creating wind powered energy.
